What’s with the Onions?
While many organizations operate with a pyramid-shaped system many intentional Christian communities have adopted the onion model to illustrate the diverse concentric layers of participation and responsibility centered around Jesus. Distinctions of roles and responsibilities are unavoidable, like organs in a body, but they do not need to be viewed as competition. It recognizes and validates multiple approaches to community engagement and commitment. A community can never have too many servants, and there is no limit to how many humble people can come close to Jesus.
