TOGETHER read the book and the scripture.
END READING AT: …because I am the owner.
INDIVIDUALLY take notes in your journal on what stands out.
Ephesians 2:4-6 (NIV) “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions —it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV) You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
TOGETHER pray for one another.
INDIVIDUALLY answer the questions in your journal - process your notes and pray.
Can you recall when God asked you to surrender something to Him? What was the effect?
What are the factors that might mistakenly cause the gospel to be viewed as an accessory to help us with life rather than a surrender to the Leadership of Christ? What can we do to avoid a consumer culture in our lives and churches?
