Everyone A Witness

The Place of Thirst
Pages 84-91
TOGETHER read the book and the scripture.
INDIVIDUALLY take notes in your journal on what stands out.
John 3:5-8 (NIV) “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Luke 10:16 (NIV) “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
John 4:37 (NIV) “Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
TOGETHER pray for one another.
INDIVIDUALLY answer the questions in your journal - process your notes and pray.
How do you detect spiritual thirst in those around you?
“one sows and another reaps”, how does that verse help us move from productivity-thinking to fruitless-thinking?
Make a list of as many ways you have heard of people coming to faith in Christ. Can you think of more possible ways that you and your church might be able to explore in the future?
EXTRA READING:
“Do not hurry as you walk with grief; it does not help the journey. Walk slowly, pausing often: do not hurry as you walk with grief. Be not disturbed by memories that come unbidden. Swiftly forgive, and let Christ speak for your unspoken words. Unfinished conversations will be resolved in Him. Be not disturbed. Be gentle with the one who walks with grief. If it is you, be gentle with yourself. Swiftly forgive; walk slowly, pausing often. Take time, be gentle as you walk with grief.”
