TOGETHER read the book (END READING AT: We need grace. Contagious grace.) and discuss the content below.
INDIVIDUALLY take notes in your journal on what stands out (try to keep it brief).

Psalm 51:5-6 (NIV) Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

Galatians 6:10 (NIV) Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

1 Peter 2:17 (NIV) Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

TOGETHER pray for one another.

INDIVIDUALLY answer the questions in your journal - process your notes and pray.

“I know I can’t save anyone. Jesus alone saves, and all I do is show up. Show up we must”.

  • What is your response to this statement?

  • Freed from the burden to save anyone, think of ways that you can simply “show up” for others in your particular season of life.

Pause and pray - Ask Jesus if there is a particular person you should show up for and how.

EXTRA READING:

“Affliction compels us to recognize as real what we do not think possible.”

- Simone Weil (1909 - 1943)

May the peace of the Lord go with you: wherever He may send you; may He guide you through wilderness: protect you through the storm; may He bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders He has shown you; may He bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.

PRAYER:
Lord, what would you teach us today in our trials? Make us receptive! Help us see your victory and compassion rather than look for easy answers to our troubles. So make us expectant, Lord, and patient. Amen.
