TOGETHER read the book and the scripture.
INDIVIDUALLY take notes in your journal on what stands out.
Psalms 110 A Psalm of David (NIV) The LORD says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!” Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb. The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. ” The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth. He will drink from a brook along the way, and so he will lift his head high.
TOGETHER pray for one another.
INDIVIDUALLY answer the questions in your journal - process your notes and pray.
In your nation and community what “shakings” are you most aware of? How might God use these things to stir spiritual thirst amongst people for the gospel?
How does the concept of biblical lament make you feel?
Why are there very few modern lament songs?
How can we learn to lament well?
What stories hinting at a turning tide can you share today?
EXTRA READING:
“The most wonderful thing is unity with Jesus and with the Father. In Him, we shall partake in God if we firmly resist and flee all the arrogant attacks of the prince of this world. Unity of prayer, of supplication, unity of mind, unity of expectancy in love and in blameless joy: this is Jesus Christ and there is nothing greater than he. Flock together, all of you, as to one temple of God, as to one altar, to one Jesus Christ, who proceeded from one Father, who is in the one and returned to the one.”
- Ignatius of Loyola (1491 - 1556)
